Bachelorette Party Plates

For my bachelorette party in June, we went to a Pottery place and got to design our own dessert plates. Some of the girls haven't seen the plates yet, so I thought I'd post them here for everyone to see :)

Out with the old, In with the new!

Well, it's almost 2006! I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by! It feels like just yesterday we were ringing in 2005! :) Well, Coop is really enjoying having his mommy at home with him! All he's done so far today, is lay on the couch and sleep -- he takes after his dad -- he SNORES! Well, I wanted to try and see if I could upload pictures on here, so here goes my first try! :)

Well, here's a picture of our nephew Cole, his dog Betsy, and our dog Cooper! Aren't they cute! :)

I need to get to sorting! I need to find some empty boxes so we can get them to Jennifer for their move! :)

Here's a picture of Jeff & I at our Thanksgiving campout! :) We were sitting INSIDE the picture frame -- Jeff didn't want to hold it up! :)

Merry Christmas....a bit late!

Merry Christmas everyone! Well, I turned 25 last weekend! :) I really don't feel that different or that much older. However, it's a bit different filling out surveys and stuff -- I'm no longer in the 18-24 year old age range :) Well, oh well.

We had a great Christmas! Dad & Carol came over to Jeff's parents on Wednesday night, took us out to eat for Carol & my birthday, and then we went back to George & Sara's to open presents.

Thursday, I had a hair appointment and rested a bunch. Then, on Friday, mom came over and we went to A & G's for my birthday! It was good food. We also ran to HyVee to get some last minute things. Then we headed back to George & Sara's, and we all ended up running to St. Joe to get Sara's Christmas present. When we got back home, we ended up going to Applebee's to celebrate George & My birthday!

EARLY Saturday morning, Jennifer, Steven, & Cole arrived. So, Saturday morning we had fun playing with Cole. Then we headed to mom's about noon to have Christmas with mom. We went to Church and then home to have Pot Roast. YUMMY. We then did presents, had dessert and eventually headed to bed.

On Sunday we woke up and Santa had visited! We ate breakfast, spent some time with mom and then headed back to George & Sara's. We ended up going to Jeff's grandparents for Christmas dinner, had Christmas and then headed back to George & Sara's. Cole fell asleep, so we waited until Cole woke up and the Bears game was over and then we did Christmas.

Overall, we had a lot of Great time spent with family and a lot of good food! Now, I'm doing thank you notes, sending out wedding pictures, and cleaning!

Well, I hope you all had a VERY Merry Christmas and enjoy your time with your family and friends!

Cleaning Day!

Well, Jeff and I are at home this weekend, so we've been busy cleaning! Yeah, I know...not too exciting to read about?! We have cleaned the kitchen and bed room so far...next comes the living room. We decided to take a short little break. So, we're in the living room watching the home and garden channel. It's amazing what is NOT on tv! THere are a lot of times that we can't find ANYTHING decent to watch on tv.

Only 5 more days until my birthday and 7 days until Christmas. How quickly time flies by! We got a laptop for Christmas, so now we can be anywhere in the house and play on the computer/internet! It's amazing how technology has changed over the years.

Do you think we'll have a white Christmas? I don't think so?! We got about 2-3 inches of snow here, but the news has reported that it's supposed to be up in the 60's come Christmas! WOW! What a change in weather we'll have! Cooper LOVES the snow. He's out in the backyard running around in the snow and trying to rile the neighbor dogs....yes, that IS his favorite past time!

Well, I'm out of things to write. Before long it's going to be time to eat lunch, finish cleaning the living room, and maybe head out to finish up our Christmas shopping!

Oh, I forgot to mention yesterday! We finally ordered our wedding pictures -- yes, 5 months later -- but they're ordered. We're hoping they get here by Christmas :) I'm hoping that they get shipped out on Monday or Tuesday! :) We're still working on our wedding album, but know it'll be coming before TOO long! :)

Happy Sunday! :)

Only 6 more days!!!

I've been a HORRIBLE blogger lately! Oh well!

Yep, it is only 6 more days until my 25th Birthday! Man, I'm getting old! I can't believe that I'm going to be a quarter of a century old!

Well, nothing too xciting is going on here!! Just messing around on the computer, enjoying my weekend at home.

We have school until December 21! So, only 2.5 more days! Last week, we did lots of holiday activities. It's amazing the things that kids say. We were discussing Kwanzaa one day, and were talking about Africa and one of the kids said, "You mean the planet of Africa?"

Summer's Over!

Well, summer is over! I start to school on Monday -- well with teacher's meetings and such! I can't believe how quickly summer has flown by! I got out of school in May. Starting packing, starting moving, moved, got married, and now I'm starting back to school! It's been a good summer, though, and I'm hoping for a GREAT school year.

Today, we FINALLY got some much needed rain. Cooper has been hanging out inside with me this morning. He's enjoyed being able to sleep on the couch, sleep on the loveseat, sleep in the bed, sleep on the guest bed....basically being a LAZY dog! :)

I do feel a bit weird going back to school. My friend Ashley isn't teaching there anymore, so it feels a bit different, and with the new location of my new room, I feel a bit "out of touch" with the regular classroom teachers. Maybe I won't feel so much that way once school starts. Who knows! I guess it'll be good to get back into the "school routine" come Monday! :)

Well, I feel that I'm rambling, maybe I am! Oh well! I don't really think anyone reads this, so I guess it's just like talking to myself. Is it bad if a person types to themself, instead of talks to themself? Hmm...a point to ponder! If you are reading this, periodically post me comments, so I don't feel as if I am TOTALLY talking to myself! :)

Well, I better get to cleaning! We bought the groomsmen & ushers tickets to a Royals game as a thank you gift for being in our wedding! So, they're all coming down tomorrow. So, that means we need to have our house somewhat clean for company! No, we're not DEEP cleaning, but just picking up some of our mess! And we have to make sure it's clean so that the guys have places to sleep. Currently, our guest bed is COVERED in stuff! :) So, I'm going to work a bit in the guest room this morning, possibly go to school this afternoon, and then clean a BUNCH more tonight once Jeff gets home from work!

I'm MARRIED!!!

Wow, it's been a LONG time since I've last posted. About two months. Since then, I have moved from my apartment and gotten married! That's right -- on July 16, 2005 I got married! Jeff & I are having TONS of fun! We went to Alaska for our honeymoon -- what an AWESOME place to visit. I'm still working trying to get unpacked in our house -- however, I don't always have the motivation (hence I'm writing on my blog). Anyway, I start back to school in a couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time I'm not! :) I've been enjoying my free time at home, and getting to see Jeff at lunch and play with Cooper, but it'll be nice to have some consistency to my days, besides all the "girly" tv shows :)

I'm Moving!!!

Well, things have been a BIT hectic around here lately. Last Wednesday (June 1) I met my mom and some other people from back home and we went shopping looking for candlelighters dresses for the wedding...luckily we found some. Then I came home with my mom and went to a dentist appointment and car appointment (the oil needed changed).

Last Saturday, June 4, the Presbyterian church threw me a shower -- it was fun! :) I got a lot of NEAT stuff! :) Since then, I've been hanging out at my mom's house helping with Bible School Crafts in the afternoon! :)

Well, this weekend, we're doing it -- we're moving my furntiture to Jeff's. It's going to be a lot of work and a long day on Saturday, but it's going to be worth it. I'm heading back to my apartment tomorrow and am going to pack up as much as I can, so it can be moved on Saturday. I don't know how we're going to fit everything into Jeff's house, but hopefully it'll work out! :)

School's Out For Summer

Well, I got out of school on Friday, May 20! It feels REALLY good to be out of school! I was ready for a break. As you can tell, since I haven't updated my blog in about a month -- things have been crazily busy here!

Well, several of the teachers at school are moving rooms, and I'm one of them. So, I've spent the last 2-3 weeks packing up my room. Well, moving day was on Friday at noon. Mom came down and helped me...we were done moving and unpacking some stuff by 4pm on Friday -- I was VERY impressed.

Then, Saturday, we went to Independence for my wedding dress fitting -- I've lost some weight since we bought the dress -- they have to take in 1/2 inch to an inch on each side -- I guess that's a GOOD thing! :) Then Saturday, we went to Stephenson's Apple Orchard for lunch -- YUMMY! Then we went to Dillard's and found mom a dress for the wedding! It's a really pretty dress; however, the color name isn't very appealing -- CEMENT!

Well, yesterday, the Christian Church Women through me a shower! It was a recipe/pantry shower. It was SO much fun! I loved the recipe/pantry shower idea! I received a LOT of great recipes and some ingredients to go with them. Jeff can't wait for me to start cooking for him! :)

Today, mom and I went to the Flower Mill and got my flowers taken care of, bought some wedding gifts, and even added stuff to my registry there! :) I was so proud of us!

Tomorrow, I'm going to Jeff's to sort through some school stuff that I'm storing there, and then I am going to meet Aunt Lois at 1:30 at Hobby Lobby to deliver the terra cotta pots we have spray painted silver for the wedding centerpieces!

It's all coming together! Only 54 more days! :) YEAH!

State FFA Convention

Well, it's been a long time since I've "blogged." Let's see what has happened in the last 2 weeks. Let's see. Last weekend, Jeff & I went home and we took care of a lot of "Wedding Business" We ordered our tuxedos!! We met with our caterer and decided on our menu for the reception:
roast beef, chicken, corn, green beans, twice baked potatoe casserol, rolls! YUMMY!!! Then we drove to Nebraska City and met Dani and her Dad to pick up my invitations -- that means that Mom needs to get busy addressing now!

Now, this weekend is State FFA Convention in Columbia, MO! Lots of fun - long days - but lots of fun! Today, we had some down time, so Dad and I went to Sam's and got vinyl table cloths and forks for the reception. Then we hit the Party Shop and got napkins and plates for the cake table. Otherwise, I'm just hanging out at the Hearnes center helping my dad take pictures!

Oh yes! I forgot to mention that last weekend I got to see my bridal bouquet! It's silk, and the Flower Mill made it up to make sure I liked it -- I LOVED IT!!!!

I talked to Jeff tonight, and he said that their were tornado warnings up in the KC area -- I hope my wedding dress is safe!

What an interesting day!

Well, the morning started out with some sad news -- Dad called and told me that Carol's dad -- Dr. Doughty -- had passed away in the night. What a great man he was, but he's in a much better place now.

Then, I went to school and got my schedule finalized for MAP and Stanford 10 testing this week and next! What a fun 2 weeks! Oh well, it has to be done.

At least the day ended on a happy note. The special ed. dept. at school had a bridal shower for our Braillist, who's getting married Apr. 23, and me. That was a lot of fun. We played a quick game, ate cake, drank punch, and then opened presents. I got a lot of great things: crockpots, everything for our bathroom (trashcan, lotion pump, tumbler, soap dish, shower curtain rods, toothbrush holder, towels), Handmade thank you cards, Mancala, picture frames, Tupperware Stuffable storage bowls, popcorn popper, bathroom scale, scouring cloths, food grinder, and kitchen towels. What a great staff I work with! They were ALL so thoughtful!

Well, I wrote all my thank yous, and put away all the pretty bags and tissue paper -- if you ever need any, please see me!

yardwork...

Well, I think yardwork is gentic -- I looked at Jeff tonight and asked him if I could go and rake in the yard -- SURE, he said!! Of course -- he HATES to rake! While I was raking we decided to trim a bush, and then ended up cutting it all the way down, and then he trimmed another one -- AMAZING what it can do to the look of the yard! Hopefully, we'll have another nice weekend coming up so we can finish it! :)

Spring is HERE!!!

Well, spring has finally hit the midwest! We had a BEAUTIFUL weekend here! It was wonderful out! Let's see, not much really went on! Here's the rundown of my weekend!

Saturday, I went to meet some of the Maryville girls over at Old Navy for a shopping trip! What a fun shopping trip! We went to Old Navy, Steinmart, and then to David's Bridal to pick up Gina's bridesmaid dresses for her wedding. After that, I hoped in with Sally, Dee, & Gina and we headed to Zona Rosa! I had never been there -- nice place; however, I'm guessing business isn't very good in the winter -- it's ALL outdoors -- Good thing it was Gorgeous out! Well, we went to Tom Fooleries for lunch -- it was a Playful American Bar & Grill Restaurant! We decided we were playful and we were american and we like bar & Grills, so we should try it out! I recommend it! Then we headed out shopping. I didn't anticipate buying that much, but I found some good deals and some other things that I just "needed" Then we headed back to Jeff's house so we could show off the sanded floors. After the girls headed back to the 'Ville, Jeff & I decided to BBQ some ribs. Then we headed to Home Depot to check out their edger. Jeff decided it'd be a better purchase to just buy his own little belt sander. So, then we headed to good ole Wally World and found a nice little belt sander that was inexpensive and got it -- oh, and I needed some new sunglasses -- some one apparently got in my purse and stepped or sat on my other pair -- I'm going to have to tell those munchkins to watch where they step next time! :)

Today was Sunday, and EARLY this morning daylight savings time went into effect! It didn't affect me too much -- we'll see how tomorrow goes! :) We ran to Cabela's and to Metro North to look for some pants for Jeffrey! He found a pair, so that made him happy. Then we came home and gave Cooper a bath! Poor little fella -- cut the underneath side of his belly somehow (probably trying to jump the fence to go play with the neighbor dogs) It wasn't really bothering him, but he doesn't like it when you touch it! :) Oh, man, we thought we'd NEVER get him into the bathtub! He kept running away -- once we got him in there, he looked like we were the meanest "parents" in the world -- I guess he got us back -- he made his room STINK like WET DOG!!!! Well, that was my weekend, nothing too exciting!

Tomorrow, the teachers are throwing a wedding shower for me and para at school, so that should be fun! Oh, and we start MAP testing this week -- so, I probably won't post very often, because I can pretty much guarantee it'll look like this:
Tues - gave tests;
Wed - gave tests;
Thurs - gave more tests!

106 days to go....

WOW! I can't believe it -- in 106 days I'm getting married! Well, I've been busy working away at home tonight. I went through and updated the wedding address list. Then, I decided that since my momma is addressing the envelopes for us -- which we REALLY appreciate -- I should make a list that will make it easy for her, since she may not know all of Jeff's family or even some of our friends. While I was doing this, I figured out that about half of those we think are going to attend are our family! Which is WONDERFUL! It's just hard to believe that we have that many family members :)

Last night Jeff & I researched honeymoon options. We're planning to go to Alaska! We're thinking about just getting a room at a nice hotel and then taking day trips out and around Alaska. The place we're thinking of staying is Homewood Suites by Hilton in Anchorage. It looks REALLY nice. Each room has a kitchen in it (so we could make our own food and save some money) and it looks as if they have complimentary breakfast & dinners.

I had a phone call on Monday while I was home over spring break, and it was a lady from the Presbyterian Church saying that they wanted to host a shower for me which I think is really nice of them. So, I called her back today, and set it up for June 4 at 10am. So, I'm going to have a busy June! :) That shower on June 4 and then my bridal party is throwing me a shower on June 18 & then we're having my bachelorette party that night!

Well, nothing else too exciting is going on -- well besides the fact that I've been housing 2 plants of mom's in the middle of my kitchen floor since fall. I was supposed to take them to school, but somehow they never made it. Anyway, I moved them outside this morning! So, we'll see how they like this weather! :) I thought they might like a little fresh air. It's funny, I still walk AROUND the spot where they were in my kitchen! What am I going to do when we start moving furniture to Jeff's house? I'm going to walk in all sorts of patterns then!

Signing off for now!

Willkomen!

Greetings! Well, I've decided to "Take the Plunge!" Yes, I've decided to create my own blog! You know, I DO have to keep up technologically with my brother :) Well, this will just be a place for me to share entertaining school stories, remodeling thoughts, wedding things, and other miscellaneous information that seems to be bogging down my brain!
