House Painting

Some of our family came down to help us paint our house. The back was one color and the other sides were another. We decided all 4 sides needed to be the same color!

Our planter boxes

We decided to build some planter boxes along our steps. Here are some pictures of the progress! :)

Paver Project

We had a little area between our driveway and sidewalk that tended to just grow weeds...we decided to put pavers down there.

Sammy and I went to watch Jeff work on the pavers. He fell asleep. We've been trying to teach him the signs for Mommy & Daddy -- I think he's trying to sign Mommy here- Jeff thinks he's trying to get his thumb in his mouth -- what do you think?

Jeff rebuilt the handrail on our front steps. Now, grandparents can come visit, safely :)

The best of both worlds...

Jeff & I have a charcoal grill and for a while he has wanted a gas grill for days when he wants to cook something quicker. So, we found a good deal on a big grill, so we bought it. Now we can enjoy food cooked quicker on the gas grill, or days when we have time and want better flavor we can enjoy food cooked on the charcoal grill.

We decided we needed a new runner for when you enter the house....the other one was falling apart!!! It's a green color. I took one picture without the flash, and one with the flash :)

Our Latest Purchase

So, we went to Sears tonight to look for a table for camping -- and found one that was a good deal. Then we headed to Lowe's to look at some stuff and found that a refrigerator we'd been looking at was on sale ... so we came home with a new refrigerator tonight :)

Water Meter Leak

Well we noticed a couple weeks ago ( April 30) that our water meter was full of water and leaking. So, we called the water department and they sent someone out to check it. He came out on Sunday afternoon, and said it was a gasket and would come out and fix it on Monday. No one came all week, so I called on Friday (May 4). On Monday (May 7) we get a call from the water department that it is not their work order, and that I should have called the street department to come fix my WATER meter! Yes, confused us too. So, I called the street department and the guy there was confused and said someone should be out to fix it this week. Well, it hasn't happened yet. But, I thought I would go ahead and document the story of the leaking water meter that the STREET department has to fix!? Confused yet, I am!
