Maternity Leave

Today was my first day of maternity leave. I decided that last Friday would be my last day of work. I'm so glad I made that decision. I was worn out at the end of last week. This weekend Jeff and I rested a lot and didn't do too much. Today, I have kept myself occupied with homework, catching up on my soap, and resting. It's been nice to have a couple of days to rest and relax and not have ANYTHING pressing to accomplish. Now we're in the waiting game -- you can rest assured as soon as there's any news about Baby "Ernie" we'll be sure to let people know :)

I think the nursery is ready....

I think our nursery is ready for the arrival of "Ernie" We decided not to put the closet doors back on, they take up so much of the space in the room, so we bought some curtains to make it look a little more finished. They're a dark green color (it's kinda hard to tell in the picture!)

Then we put up the valences -- we've been waiting to find curtain rod holders; somehow they got lost in my move several years ago!

We bought pictures at WallyWorld a while back for $1 each, and Jeff decided today to make frames for them so we could put them up on the wall before the baby got here!

So, I think overall, our house is ready for him. I just want to make it through this week of school, and then I think I'll mentally be ready for him to be here!

Oh yeah, we got the carseat checked at the firestation on Saturday and they said it looked great! They were impressed with how tight Jeff got it in there! :)

I admit....

Let's see....last fall the hinge on our laptop broke so we ordered a replacement part and did research on how to fix it. I admit I have been dragging my feet to let Jeff attempt to fix it -- I was convinced we would break the computer and then we'd be computerless. Well, today he decided he was going to fix it. I wasn't very confident, but, low and behold we got it fixed! Our hinge now works! YIPPEE! So, I admit that I should have had confidence in him! :)

Cradle

Here is a picture of the cradle that Grandad made for Ernie. We finally got it into it's new home in our bedroom! :)

Updates...

I am officially 37 weeks! I had a doctor's appointment yesterday....for more information about it, visit our babysite. Basically, the doctor thinks "Ernie" is gonna hold out a little longer -- which his momma is happy about! :)

The nursery is still in a bit of a mess. We had 2 great showers, and got a lot of great stuff. Now, we just have to find the time and place for everything. We're slowly doing this. Here are some pictures of some of the clean areas in the nursery! :)

Family/Friends Shower

Jennifer and Sally threw me a great baby shower on Saturday, March 8. It was so good to see so many friends and family. Here's a preview of those pictures:

A Wet Dog

Cooper went and played in the snowy weather yesterday and then we gave him a bath. Here is a not so happy wet dog.....he was sad because he wanted to help shampoo the carpet in the nursery!

Doctor's Appointment

Well, we had our doctor's appointment today. It was a busy one. First, I had to drink my glucose drink. That was very sugary! :) Then, we had another ultrasound to check the location of the placenta -- good news -- it's moved up and away. So, everything there looks good. The ultrasound technician confirmed that Baby is a little boy and she also showed us that he has LOTS of hair. Jeff is convinced that our son is going to come out with a mullet. My blood pressure was pretty normal and I have gained 6 more pounds (I think that's a total of 16lbs. now!) The baby's heartrate was pretty good as well. The doctor said that Baby weighs about 2lb. 12 oz. So, overall our little boy is happy and healthy and doing well! Also, I've made all my doctor's appointments from now until the end....we're getting close!

Bad Blogger...

So, I have to apologize for being a bad blogger. We were busy with the holidays. Then, I went back to school and we had a move (luckily, I didn't move rooms) and then we had grade cards due. I'll try to be a better blogger from now on. I have been told at school that I look a lot more "pregnant" lately. Well, here's a picture, and you can see for yourself :)


We're currently cleaning out the office/guest bedroom to get it ready to be the nursery. Yes, I am a packrat and hate throwing stuff away, but I am having to learn to go through stuff and actually get rid of some stuff.

B-E-A-R-C-A-T-S

We played Grand Valley State last night at Bearcat Stadium in the Division II semi-finals. Yes, it was COLD....we were dressed nice and warm (see below). We also had a sign to help us be seen on ESPN2....we were on tv! :D
