Grandad's New Toy!

Jeff's dad got a new toy this weekend -- a motorcycle. We all had fun sitting on it in the garage! :)

Our Latest Purchase

So, we went to Sears tonight to look for a table for camping -- and found one that was a good deal. Then we headed to Lowe's to look at some stuff and found that a refrigerator we'd been looking at was on sale ... so we came home with a new refrigerator tonight :)

Water Meter Leak

Well we noticed a couple weeks ago ( April 30) that our water meter was full of water and leaking. So, we called the water department and they sent someone out to check it. He came out on Sunday afternoon, and said it was a gasket and would come out and fix it on Monday. No one came all week, so I called on Friday (May 4). On Monday (May 7) we get a call from the water department that it is not their work order, and that I should have called the street department to come fix my WATER meter! Yes, confused us too. So, I called the street department and the guy there was confused and said someone should be out to fix it this week. Well, it hasn't happened yet. But, I thought I would go ahead and document the story of the leaking water meter that the STREET department has to fix!? Confused yet, I am!

Here's the water meter leak on May 8.

Trash Day

Here's all our trash from cleaning up the garage with the flood. And I STILL have MORE sorting to do! :)

Our Flood

After all our rain last weekend, we had about an inch or so of water in our basement. Here's some pictures of our stuff moved so we could clean. If you look carefully, you can see the water on the floor -- the floor looks shiny and waxed, but that's really just the water! :)

Riding the Animals

Here are some pictures of Cole riding all the "animals" at the Henry Doorly Zoo last weekend! :) Uncle Jon told him to put his hand up like he was riding a bull -- that explains why he looks like he's waving in most of the pictures!

Henry Doorly Zoo

We went to the Henry Doorly Zoo last weekend with Cole and the family. It was a fun trip! Here's some pictures of the animals:

Isn't he cute?

One Step Closer!

We're getting closer to having our kitchen finished! This weekend we put the trim on the countertop. Then, we put up our backsplash tonight. It required some modifications to our light switches, but we got them to work. Now all we have left is to grout the backsplash, trim out the backsplash, and lay the floor! Then, it should be done! :D

Enjoy some pictures of our process:
