New Toys

Here is Sammy trying out the Jumperoo and walker.

Look carefully -- do you see his two teeth?

Sammy's 1st Sunburn

We took Sammy to the Bearcat football game last Saturday. It had been cold, rainy, and overcase the entire week prior. We went to the game dressed for cold and rainy weather -- BOY were we surprised. We were really careful and kept Sammy covered or up in the shade; however, he got a little sunburn. It looks a lot better now! :)

5 months old

Sammy turned 5 months old on Thursday -- wow, how time has flown by! He was weighed on Monday and he is up to 15lbs 4 oz. He is so interested in food, so we decided to start him on rice cereal (pictures to come soon!) We also are borrowing some big toys from Lucas -- Sammy enjoys the freedom that he has :)

New Milestones

Let's see, Sammy has met a few milestones lately, that I haven't shared with you.

Cathy had a birthday/housewarming party at her new house August 23. On our way to her house, Sammy was crying and he ended up chewing on my finger and I noticed something sharp -- he was getting a tooth -- his FIRST tooth. The next day we noticed he's getting his first TWO teeth.

Last Sunday (9/7), Sammy decided to roll from his back to his front. Then Monday night he laid in bed and rolled over a lot -- I think he was doing whatever to keep himself awake. He really wants to crawl, but can't quite figure it out. I'm sure we're going to have a mobile little boy on our hands in the next few weeks.

Sammy has also taken to NOT sleeping in his crib. He will sleep in our bed, but not in his crib. We're trying not to make this into a habit. We'll hope for a good night tonight!

Go Bearcats

Sammy got to experience his first Bearcat football game last Saturday, September 6, 2008.

Sammy's New Baseball Game

We have seen this baseball game at the store several times, but it was about 50% off on clearance this weekend, so we bought it. Sammy's a little young for it, but he still enjoyed checking it out!

BMX in the Olympics

Jeff & I were watching the Olympics tonight and we saw a preview for BMX.....now I want to watch a BMX race in the Olympics. However, I'm tired form a long week at school .... ah, the dilemmas! :)

We did giggle because they were commenting that BMX racing wasn't dangerous and then they went to a clip of the tending to a racer who had just wrecked on the track!

I'm going to upload more pictures while I wait for BMX racing....I guess if it's not on in the next 30 minutes, I can always catch it at 2 or 3am when Sammy dedcides he needs to get up for his "midnight snack"

4 Months

Wow! I can't believe that Sammy is already 4 months old. He spent his 4 month birthday helping mom celebrate her actual birthday. I think they had a good day! :) We went to the doctor yesterday for his 4 month check up. He weighs 14lbs 15 oz -- just shy of 15lbs! His head circumfrence is 16 3/4" and he is 24 3/4" long. He got 4 shots and did pretty well. He woke up once last night just screaming and crying, but we got him some tylenol and he got himself back to sleep.
In the last month he has become more expressive. He is giggling more and more. He also likes to talk and has recently figured out he can scream just for fun :) We think he's learned to cough because he does it randomly. He is getting stronger and stronger every day. He likes to stand up and really likes to sit up. He still needs help doing these things, but before long I'm sure he'll be doing them on his own. Sammy spends 3 days a week with Grammy and the other with a babysitter. He's slowly getting into this routine and getting used to both environments.
I'll leave you with a couple pictures from Mom's on his 4 month birthday!

Trying out the high chair

We are at Gramma & Grandad's this weekend and decided to try out Lucas' high chair. Sammy seemed to enjoy it -- he sat there through our entire meal! Yay, we got to eat with 2 hands!!

Busy Mom.....

Well, it's back to school time. I've been spending several days at school getting ready for the new school year. Monday is Open House and then the kids start on Tuesday. Sammy has been going to Grammy's as well as to the other baby-sitters. He's been doing well. I think it'll just take him time to figure out everyone's routines. Since I've been back at school I haven't been as good about taking pictures, but here's a few from the last week or so! :)

Monday, August 04, 2008

Sammy was weighed tonight -- he's up to 14lbs 11 oz. He's doing well. He should gain between 4-7oz a week. So he gained about 10oz in 2 weeks. Now he's watching the Royals with Daddy!

15 Weeks Old

Wow! Time is flying by. Sammy is giggling more and more. Sometimes we can find his "ticklish" spot and others we can't. He has decided he hates his car seat now, which sometimes makes car rides a bit long. Oh well, eventually he will learn that he has to be in a car seat for his safety. We did buy him a mirror this weekend -- I'll let you know how he likes it later this week! He will get his first experience at the babysitter's this week when I have to go to school for a meeting. I'm hoping that all goes well. I think that's one of the most stressful parts of going back to school -- how he'll do at the babysitter and/or how he'll do for Grammy.
